Memorable Moments of this Weekend in El Salvador
Here are some of the memorable moments of this weekend in El Salvador. I was going to call some highlights and others lowlights but I’ll let you all decide that.
-Being hit on all weekend long by my gay Couchsurfing host.
-Sitting on the road side with very drunk indigenous men, while they slammed homemade liquor and puked it up, gurgling words at me I could not understand.
-10 cent tortillas and 20 cent avocados
-Sitting with Gloria, a heart warming El Salvadorian woman, at her wooden slab restaurant. She even sent me on my way with a goody bag of fried Masa and potato.
-Hitchhiking to the Guatemala border and getting a ride from Alfredo
-Finding a $7 hotel late night at the El Salvador border
-The Guatemala border and getting $2 off for explaining that I wouldn’t use the shower, electricity, or toilet paper.
-The feeling of truly living for the moment and needing nothing more than what is in front of me.
Needless to say, I am so happy to be a part of this crazy human race! We have no shortage of problems but I’m so grateful to be a part of it all.
