Growing and Foraging 100% of my Food for a Year- What I’m Eating

The following is a daily log of the food that I am eating during my year long project of growing and foraging 100% of my food.

First, a few notes:

-I typically wrote the foods (or as some would say “ingredients”) that I ate in a list form, not what the meals necessarily are.

-Quantities are not documented.

-I’ve categorized all leafy greens as just “greens” I have eaten over 40 varieties of greens listed here.

-I’ve categorized many foods under herbs. This includes sea salt, hot peppers, turmeric, ginger, garlic and over 30 herbs listed here.

-I use filtered rainwater and sea salt in most of my cooked meals. I did not list that in this log.

-I’ve not logged some foods that I’ve eaten because time gets away from me and sometimes I forget. I often forget to list vinegar, sauerkraut (which is loaded with herbs) and tindora cucumber (which grows right next to my kitchen). I rarely include foods that I didn’t eat, but I’m sure I’ve made some mistakes there as well.

-When I started this log I listed the individual greens and herbs more, but deleted that for the most part to create consistency through the year. Some of that may still be there though.

-When I make Seminole pumpkin soup, I often blend the seeds with the soup and have not written pumpkin seeds in.

-This was first published on day 210 and will be updated monthly for the rest of the year. This log is currently up to date to day 210 06/08/2019.

I began this year on November 11th 2018 and will go until November 11th 2019.
