In one month I create less trash than the average American creates in one day! This video shows how I manage to fit a months worth of my trash into a one-gallon zip lock bag!
I often see comments like, “This guy obviously doesn’t have a girlfriend” and they’re talking about me when they say that! Well, let me tell you, I DO have a girlfriend and she is AMAZING, and GORGEOUS, and we are SO IN LOVE! She loves to spend time at my off the grid tiny house with me and she’s coming over right now. Here, she shares her perspective of off the grid, tiny house livin’…
If you are spending time with Rob Greenfield, then you are probably spending time in nature. Rob thrives off of a simple and natural environment. I could say the opposite is also true for him, that in an artificially created environment, he is often quite uncomfortable.
It may seem mundane for me to write about popping your own popcorn. Popping popcorn is certainly not world changing. However ditching the microwave bags for organic kernels is a refreshing perspective for many. It is world changing to learn to make your own stuff… to learn to be more self-sufficient… to learn to stay away from hidden unhealthy ingredients… and to avoid corrupt corporations. Popping your own popcorn is one of many ways to live for a healthier earth, community, and self!
Composting is really simple and something that just about anyone can do. If you’ve had any worries about whether or not you can do it you can drop those right now. Composting can be done at your home, school, work, or just about anywhere. The earth even does most of the work for us. You just have to give it a little place to do the work.
This is a simple guide of how to start composting and how to make it work!
It’s been 4 months since I moved into my tiny house and life is splendid! It has come along a bit slower than planned because of travels and other projects but today I felt it was finally time to share my life, off the grid, in the city! I am living a very low impact lifestyle- harvesting rainwater, eating local, harnessing the energy of the sun, composting, and riding my bamboo bike around town.
Welcome to my Tiny House!
Here is the first video of many to come from my off the grid, in the city, tiny house adventure. I’ve moved in and life is about to get real sweet. Well, it’s already sweet, but even sweeter now!
I just moved in a few days ago so a lot of work is sure to come, but soon I’ll be growing food, harvesting rain water, cooking with a rocket stove, powering up with solar panels, composting to create healthy soil, and using a compost toilet. I have no bills and no debt and will be living the good life in this 50 square foot tiny home! Simple living in the city!
I am looking for a backyard in San Diego for my tiny home! Particularly I am really looking for a place in Ocean Beach because it’s important for me to be close to my food source, People’s Co-op and I love this community.
